Zelmar Schachman
Zelmar Schachman, 90, of Florham Park died Dec. 19, 2014. Born in West New York, she lived in Newark, East Orange, Irvington, Hillside, Springfield, and West Orange before moving to Florham Park in 2009.
Mrs. Schachman had worked for the Berkeley Bank in Millburn for a few years before her retirement in 1987. Previously she had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for the Niagra Paper Company in Newark for over 25 years.
She was a member of Organization for Rehabilitation through Training (ORT) and helped found an ORT Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Susan) of Springfield, and two granddaughters.
Services were held Dec. 21 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
