Wrong note
I, too, used to be a fan of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, until I learned that she attended the opening night of the opera The Death of Klinghoffer at the Metropolitan Opera House on Oct. 20 in New York City. After researching the history of the opera, reading many of its anti-Semitic and anti-Israel lyrics, and hearing composer John Adams’ attempt to justify his perceived parity between Leon Klinghoffer’s murder and the upbringing of the terrorists in Palestinian refugee camps as forms of terrorism, I am against the performance.
I understand that the Met has every right to put on the performance, but the public has an equal right to boycott the performance. I am disappointed that RBG would choose to attend.
