Women of Valor to be honored

BEST-SELLING AUTHOR Francine Klagsbrun will be guest speaker at JCC MetroWest’s second annual Women of Valor brunch on Friday, Dec. 7, 9:30-noon at the Cooperman JCC in West Orange.

Four leaders — Barbara Birnbaum of Livingston, Annette Littman of West Orange, Leslie Dannin Rosenthal of South Orange, and Jessica Wolff of Randolph — will be honored for their dedication to the JCC and the Jewish community.

Klagsbrun is the author of more than a dozen books, including “The Fourth Commandment: Remember the Sabbath Day,” “Married People: Staying Together in the Age of Divorce,” and “Lioness: Golda Meir and the Nation of Israel,” which received the 2017 National Jewish Book Award/Everett Family Foundation Book of the Year.

Klagsbrun was also the editor of “Free to Be… You and Me” and is a regular columnist for The New York Jewish Week, a contributing editor to Lilith, and is on the editorial board of Hadassah magazine. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Newsweek, and Ms. magazine.
