William Hebel

William Hebel, 96, of Whippany died April 22, 2014. Born in Newark, he resided in Rockaway and then Londonderry, Vt., and Melbourne Beach, Fla., before moving to Whippany seven years ago. 

Mr. Hebel worked as a builder and land developer for Hebel & Hebel Realtors in Linden for over 40 years. 

He was a member of White Meadow Temple, Rockaway, where he was a past president, and the Wally Bayam Airstream. 

He served during World War II as a sergeant in a U.S. Army Air Force Base Unit.

He is survived by his wife, Celia; his son, Mel (Alice); two daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Ochs; and Karen Waller; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

Services were held April 27 with arrangements by Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York.
