William Bloom

William Marvin Bloom, DDS, 87, of Pompton Plains died Dec. 6, 2017. Born in the Bronx, he resided in Mountainside between 1960 and 2015, when he moved to Pompton Plains.

Dr. Bloom was a general dentist in Springfield and Mountainside for over 40 years.

He graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1947; Park College, Parkville, Mo., in 1949; and the University of Buffalo Dental School in 1953.

He was a member of Temple Emanu-El in Westfield.

He was in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Biggs Air Force Base, El Paso, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; his daughter, Teri of New York City; his son, Steven (Karen Kaye Bloom) of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Temple Emanu-El in spring 2018.
