Weequahic memories

Reading the NJ Jewish News always brings warm memories to me, today especially as I read of the Weequahic recollections (“‘Best-known Jewish neighborhood’ spotlighted,” March 17).

I was a member of the Weequahic High School Class of 1937, the first to graduate from the very new school, and I am very pleased today to still have contact with the few of us still around.

It was a warm and gratifying school to have been most actively involved in (I coedited the yearbook), and now I am filled with delight to read some of the recollections of our time and experience from that time frame.

The article notes graduates since 1947. But there are indeed some of us from the earliest years, which we happily recall.
