Vote for integrity

My respect for Max Kleinman’s op-ed “When judging politicians, consider the whole” (Feb. 22) is great. His recognition of the overall body of work of Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s political career deserves our respect, just as President Ulysses S. Grant’s efforts deserve to be held in high esteem.

Several years ago, at the last AIPAC meeting I attended, I had the opportunity to speak at a political action meeting with Sen. Robert Menendez’s (D-NJ) staff. My personal political bent is not generally toward Menendez’s party; however, his negative stand on the issue of the Iran Nuclear Deal was principled and stalwart. Menendez has always been a true friend to Israel and its people. That is one of the reasons why I have historically voted for him.

Party and political commitment is important but not nearly as important as integrity and decency of action.

I am proud that Kleinman is not one of those frail persons who easily forget those who stand and have stood for his interests. Kleinman, you have earned my respect!
