Victoria Zagorin
Victoria (Vickie) Wysoker Freidenreich Zagorin of Ewing died Oct. 10, 2017. She was born in New Brunswick in 1923 and moved to Highland Park when she was a pre-teen.
Mrs. Zagorin graduated from Highland Park High School in 1941 and New York University School of Commerce in 1945. She was captain of HPHS’s girls’ field hockey team and also played field hockey for NYU.
With her first husband, David Freidenreich, she raised a family in Highland Park and together they maintained an accounting practice there. She was president of the Raritan Valley chapter of Hadassah and the PTA of Moriah Yeshivah of New Brunswick (the predecessor of Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva of Edison).
After her husband’s death in 1975, she married Louis A. Zagorin and moved to Lakewood. There, she was president of the Lakewood chapter of Hadassah and volunteered at Paul Kimball Hospital in Lakewood. After Mr. Zagorin’s death in 2000, she returned to Highland Park.
Throughout her life she served in many board positions in Hadassah’s Southern New Jersey Region and volunteered for Jewish Family Services.
She is survived by three sons, Philip (Harriet), Sheldon (Bonnie), and Elliot (Anita) Freidenreich; her stepdaughter/daughter-in-law, Bonnie Zagorin Freidenreich; her stepson, Irving (Susan) Zagorin; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 11 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Victoria Zagorin Fund at Hadassah.
