Vicki Isler
Vicki Jan Isler, 62, of Metuchen died June 20, 2018. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Linden before moving to Metuchen 38 years ago.
Ms. Isler joined the State of New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Division of Law & Public Safety, as a Deputy Attorney General and represented the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in state and federal courts. She served the New Jersey Bar Association as its Environmental Law Section Chairman from
1988 to 1989.
In the private sector, she practiced environmental law with the law firms Giordano, Halleran & Ciesala; Friedman Siegelbaum; and Jacobs Rosenberg L.L.C. She later taught environmental law at Seton Hall Law School and Montclair State University.
In recent years she worked with Mediators Beyond Borders International and was their United Nations representative, working to improve the lives of women around the world and urge action on climate change. She was a delegate to the United Nations Climate Change conferences in Denmark and Mexico and was a delegate for several years to the UN sessions of the Commission on the Status of Women.
She graduated from Colgate University in 1977 and from Cardozo School of Law in 1980. She also was certified in Environmental Dispute Resolution from the MIT/Harvard University Program in Environmental Negotiations.
She was an active member of Temple Emanu-El in Edison and sang with its choir.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mitch Grossman, and three children, Lisa Grossman, Drew Grossman, and Jenna Grossman Spiers.
Services were held June 22 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison.
