Congregation B’nai Israel, Rumson, is celebrating Jewish Pulitzer Prize novelists — Philip Roth, Norman Mailer, Bernard Malamud, and Saul Bellow — in a series of free Sunday seminars. Kicking off the series on Oct. 21 will be Prof. Andrew Meyer on Malamud at 11:15 a.m. On Nov. 11, Jack Needle, a retired Brookdale Community College history professor, will discuss the life and works of Roth. Myron Sugerman, whose family history is closely entwined with the Mafia, will highlight the mob’s little-known role in fighting Nazism and providing clandestine aid to the fledgling state of Israel at 11:15 a.m. at Congregation B’nai Israel, Rumson.
