True friends
While I was pleased to read in your July 24 “Kolbo” column that the recent Pew Research Center found that Jews are the most warmly regarded religious group in America, I was
extremely disappointed that Jews gave a rating of only 34 to Evangelicals, while Evangelicals rated Jews at 69.
With many Presbyterians supporting Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions and anti-Semitism rapidly growing in every corner of the world, it is the evangelical Christians who are offering their strong support and friendship to the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
During the current crisis, most of the media appears biased and critical of Israel. Evangelicals like former Gov. Mike Huckabee never back down to the critics of Israel. His arguments are inspirational. Some of us may disagree with their ultra-conservative politics or have suspicions of their motives, but I say we should be counting our blessings for this kind of support.
