Thomas N. Slutsker, 81, of Morristown died May 16, 2014. Born in Cleveland, he grew up in South Orange and spent his entire adult life in Morristown.
Mr. Slutsker began his career as a professional portrait photographer and executive at Lorstan-Thomas Studios, his family’s Newark-based photography business. He was also involved in the cork and hospitality businesses. In the late 1980s he developed a rust-preventive paint and built it into a successful coatings business called POR-15 Inc.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
He was a longtime member of Rotary International.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sheila; two sons, Gary Samuels of New York City and Peter Marx of Florham Park; and five grandchildren.
Services were held May 18 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
