The right priorities
Israel is actually fighting two battles at this time. The first is to protect the lives of its citizens from deadly attacks which could come from Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, and/or Hamas. The second battle is one of public opinion. In dealing with these matters, Israel should have two very different priorities.
Priority 1 is the protection of its citizens’ lives. Priority 2 is adhering to national and international law and the war of public opinion.
Under Priority 1, if it saves their people’s lives, do it. Do it regardless of whether you have to break a law, lose money, embarrass yourself or your allies, damage the environment, etc.
Under Priority 2, try the best not to break any law, lose money, embarrass yourself or your allies, damage the environment, etc.
Priority 1 is much more important than Priority 2.
