Tempered optimism

I do hope conditions alluded to in the March 10 article, “Kurtzer sees no alternative to two states,” will lead to a peace settlement that will allow Israel to remain as a viable Jewish nation. But my optimism is tempered as the article did not discuss how the resulting peace agreement would be  supported from attempts to subvert it.

In 1993, Israel gave the Palestinian Authority limited control of Gaza. After Israel’s total withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, the Palestinian Authority lost control of the territory to Hamas in 2007.
