CHABAD OF SE MORRIS County held a gala on May 22 at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park. Some 250 guests attended the event, where CTeen volunteers Oliver Simon and Sophia Smith were honored with the Teen Visionary Award for establishing Extra Helpings Delivered, a project that alleviates hunger and eliminates food waste.

Other honorees included Marsha Hoch and Bernard Brothman, who received the Community Leadership Award, and Evelyn Schachtel, who was the recipient of the Woman of Valor Award.

The gala highlighted Chabad’s many programs, including a weekly senior discussion group, knitting circle, Thanksgiving dinners for the Homebound Project, The Jewish Law Symposium, Hebrew School, CTeen volunteering, and Shabbat and holiday celebrations.
