Syril Sedlacek
Syril Sedlacek, 87, of Succasunna died April 8, 2017. Born in New York City, she lived in Succasunna for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Sedlacek was retired as the personnel director for Greystone Hospital.
She was active with Temple Shalom in Succasunna and National Organization for Women. She was one of the first members of the Morris County Crisis Hotline, past president of the Roxbury PTA and Roxbury Women’s Club, and, in 1994, won the Roxbury Mayor James Sprow Distinguished Service Award for her contribution to religious work.
She is survived by her children, Jan (Wendy) of Succasunna, Laurie (Raymond) Parr of Connecticut, Felice (Gary) Walker of Rockaway, and Paul (Chris) of Rockaway; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to UNICEF USA, 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038.
