Sylvia Slatus (Hindin), 96, of South Orange died Sept. 29, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, she resided in Verona for 30 years before moving to South Orange two years ago.
A homemaker, she was an active member of Hadassah and a life member of the National Council of Jewish Women.
Predeceased by her husband, Leopold, in 1999, she is survived by two sons, Edmond of New York City and Jay of West Orange; four grandchildren; and her aide for two years, Sharon Silvera.
Services were held Oct. 1 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
