Sylvia Kadison
Sylvia Zahn Kadison, 96, of Highland Park, Ill., died March 26, 2018. She also had lived in Newark, Bradley Beach, Verona, and Chatham.
A 1939 graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark, Mrs. Kadison went on to complete “Miss Whitman’s Finishing School.”
She was a homemaker. In the late 1960s and early ’70s, she co-owned The Other Place, a women’s clothing boutique in Verona.
Predeceased by Leo, her husband of 38 years, she is survived by her son, Douglas (Carol) of Austin, Texas; her daughter, Hetty (Tom) Balanoff of Highland Park, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held March 30 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Anti-Defamation League.
