Sylvia Guttman
Sylvia Guttman (Lerman) of West Orange died Aug. 30, 2010. Born in Russia, she resided in Newark, Maplewood, and Union before moving to West Orange within the past year.
For over 60 years Mrs. Guttman was the owner/operator of Fairset-Syl-Lou-Ette Beauty Salon in Hillside and Newark.
She was active in the Sara Slifer organization.
Predeceased by her husband, Samuel, she is survived by her daughter, Sharon Victor of South Orange; her son, Ira of Hamilton; a brother, Gus Lerman of Washington, DC; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 1 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
