Sylvia Ferrara
Sylvia Ferrara, 92, of Mt. Arlington died Oct. 4, 2018. She was born in Hoboken and moved to Roxbury/Mount Arlington in the 1960s.
She was a history and English teacher at Hoboken High School and worked for three decades as a substitute teacher in the Morris Hills Regional District.
Mrs. Ferrara was a 1943 graduate of Montclair State Teachers College.
Predeceased by her husband, Albert “Bo,” she is survived by her son, David (Wendy) of Mount Arlington, and her daughter, Melissa (Mark) McDonald of East Stroudsburg, Pa., and four grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 5 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to Weill-Cornell Medical Center to fight Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
