Sylvan I. Cohen, 92, of Monroe Township died March 10, 2011. Born in the Bronx, he resided in North Carolina before moving to Monroe 13 years ago.
Prior to retiring, Dr. Cohen was a biologist at North Carolina State University.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Predeceased by his wife, Zelda, in 2008, he is survived by his son, Richard of Anchorage, Alaska; and his daughter, Phyllis Cohen of Walnut Creek, Calif.
Services were held March 16 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
