Sydney Kramer
Dr. Sydney Kramer, 86, of Little Silver died Feb. 7, 2013. Born in Long Branch, he moved to Little Silver in 1955.
Dr. Kramer practiced as an optometrist in Red Bank for more than six decades.
He graduated from Long Branch High School in 1944 and from Pennsylvania State College of Optometry in 1949.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the army as a sergeant.
He served as president of Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson, a partner of the Ten Co. in Red Bank, a member of the Elberon Bathing Club, president of the Red Bank Kiwanis, a member of the New Jersey State Board of Optometrists, a board member of the Red Bank Adult School, a volunteer at the Parker Clinic, and a member of the Monmouth County Board of Health.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet; his daughter, Susan (Craig) Sprung of Ocean Township; his son, Richard of Red Bank; and two granddaughters.
Services were held Feb. 10 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B’nai Israel.
