Susan Kovac
Susan Kovac (Wohlberg), 94, of Highland Park died Feb. 9, 2018. She was born in the Hungarian-speaking section of Komoro, Czechoslovakia, now known as Slovakia, and took voice lessons in Budapest. After marrying there, she and her husband Leslie traveled by boat via Sweden to come to the United States in the 1940s. They settled in Passaic before moving to the New Brunswick-Highland Park area.
Mrs. Kovac worked for Hedy Farkas, who ran a knitting store. She also created afghans, scarves, and other knitted items.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her son, John, and his family of Highland Park.
Services were held Feb. 11 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
