Stewart Weiss
Stewart Weiss, 81, of Edison died June 26, 2012. He was born in the Bronx and raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. After his marriage, he moved to Elizabeth and then Westfield before settling in Edison 20 years ago.
Mr. Weiss worked for General Cable, Anaconda, and Royale Cable companies specializing as a cable extruder. He also had his own engineering firm, Stewart Weiss & Associates in Edison, which he operated until his retirement.
He earned a bachelor of science in industrial engineering and a master of science in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also received a law degree from Seton Hall University.
He was an avid coin and stamp collector. After his retirement, he volunteered for the NJPTA-Freight Train System.
Predeceased by his son, Ronald, in 1990, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Renee; his daughter, Cynthia Weiss-Rice of Bethesda, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Services were held June 28 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
