Steven Klein
Dr. Steven W. Klein, 74, of Newtown, Pa., died Jan. 6, 2019. He was born in New York City and formerly lived in Plainsboro.
After beginning a career on Wall Street, Dr. Klein decided to pursue a career in academia. He was the valedictorian of the New York University Stern School of Business and received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University in mathematical statistics. He taught various courses in mathematics (with a focus on the fields of statistics and probability) at University of Georgia, Rutgers, and Rider University, where he later retired.
He was a graduate of Cornell University’s Sibley School of Engineering, where he was also a member of the men’s tennis team.
He was a longtime congregant at The Jewish Center, Princeton, and a member of Cobblestone Creek Country Club.
Predeceased by his wife, Helene, he is survived by three sons, Jon (Patricia), Marc (Alejandra), and Gregg (Julia); his mother, Marsha Klein; a brother, Jeffrey; three grandchildren; and his companion of many years, Leslie Skolnick.
Services were held Jan. 9 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing.
