Stanley Solomon

Stanley T. Solomon, 92, of Burlington Township died April 23, 2012. Born and raised in the Bronx, he lived in Danbury, Conn., before moving to Cranford in 1960. He resided in Linden from 1994 to 2004 and moved to Burlington in 2005.

Mr. Solomon had a career in the food service industry, owning and operating restaurants, and later was a member of the food services department at Overlook Hospital in Summit.

He earned his associate’s degree from Union County College in 1992 at age 72.

He served as president of the Seniors’ Club at the JCC of Middlesex County from 2000 to 2004, and was a member of Azure Masada Lodge #22 F&AM in Cranford.

Predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Sheila (Collins), in 1993, he is survived by three sons, Raymond of Sarasota, Fla., William of Montclair, and Jeffrey of Bridgewater; his daughter, Susan of Tarrytown, NY; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held April 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
