Stanley Kern
Stanley Kern, 85, of West New York, formerly of South Orange, died June 26, 2013. He was born in Newark.
Dr. Kern was a forensic psychoanalyst for the New Jersey Department of Corrections and a professor at University of Medicine and Dentistry; he also maintained a private practice in South Orange.
He graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood, New York University, and Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
He was president of the Tri-State Psychoanalytic Society and the New Jersey Psychiatric Assocition.
He is survived by his wife, Allison (Kimberg); his daughter, Sue Kern (Ken) Gelinas; his son, Andy; two stepdaughters, Leigh and Debbie Kimberg; a brother, Howard; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held June 28 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
