Stanley Fieber
Dr. Stanley Fieber, 95, of Lake Worth, Fla., died July 21, 2019. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and raised his family in Livingston.
Dr. Fieber was a surgeon in Essex County for 50 years, with his office in West Orange. He was affiliated with St. Barnabas Medical Center, Montclair Community Hospital, and the Veterans Hospital in East Orange. For many years, he was the town doctor in Roseland and the physician for the Mountain High School football team.
He authored articles on innovative surgical practices that were published in prominent medical journals, and established a Chair of Surgery at the University of Vermont.
He graduated at the age of 16 from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. He attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Vermont.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was a founding member of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex in Livingston. He was a longtime member of Crestmont Country Club in West Orange.
He is survived by two sons, Laurence R. Fieber (JP Cronin) and Leonard Fieber (Kristine Moran); his daughter, Laura Fieber (Dennis Minogue); two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
Services were held Aug. 4 with arrangements by Orland’s Memorial Chapel, Ewing.
