Sonia Robins
Sonia Robins, 85, of Tinton Falls died Dec. 17, 2010. She was born in Newark and lived in Little Silver for 51 years before moving to Tinton Falls four months ago. She also had lived in Otis, Mass., and spent winters in Florida for 10 years.
Mrs. Robins was a teacher in Little Silver for 20 years before retiring in 1985.
She was an accomplished pianist and a lifelong lover of music. She volunteered at Little Silver Public Library and served as president of Friends of the Little Silver Library. In Florida she volunteered at Riviera Beach Library and served as president of Friends of Riviera Beach Library. She also volunteered as a guide for students at MacArthur State Park in Jupiter, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edwin; her son Richard of Gainesville, Ga.; her daughter, Jane Denny of Colts Neck; her sister, Marcia Greenberg of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 22 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Education Center at Brookdale Community College.
