Sol Mackler
Sol Mackler, 94, of Highland Park died March 26, 2015. Born in Jadlina-Koscielne, Poland, he was a survivor of numerous labor and concentration camps in Poland and Germany during World War II. Liberated from the Sachsenhausen concentration camp near Berlin in 1945, he lived in a Displaced Persons camp in Germany until immigrating to the United States in 1950.
Mr. Mackler worked for Paul Masson wineries in San Jose, Calif., and as a butcher in Brooklyn before joining the family construction company in New Jersey, where he worked for over 50 years.
He was a longtime member of Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth.
Predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Renee (Reisman), he is survived by two sons, Jack (Norman Graber) of Rockville, Md., and Mark of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 27 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
