Sid Krueger

Sid Krueger, 92, of Chatham died Dec. 21, 2012. He spent his summers in Long Branch.

Mr. Krueger was dedicated to his career as an educator in the Newark public school system, and then served as an Associate Professor of English at Kean University for over 40 years. While at Kean, he created a literary tour of Great Britain so his students could experience theater and visit noted sites.

He served in the U.S. Army.

As a retiree, he taught a film class at the Chatham Public Library and a writing class at the Chatham Senior Citizen Center.

He was a member of Congregation Beth Hatikvah, Summit.

Predeceased by his wife, Edith, and his son, Eric, he is survived by his daughter, Ellen of Chatham, and a brother, Jerry.

Services were held Dec. 26 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chatham Public Library.
