Shirley Levinson

Shirley Levinson (Miller) of Maplewood died Feb. 4, 2013. She had also resided in Verona.

Mrs. Levinson was a graduate of New York University with a degree in merchandising.

She served as president of the Essex County Chapter of the National Council of Jewish Women, and membership chairman for many years at Temple Sholom of West Essex, Cedar Grove, where she and her husband were founding members. She was an avid tennis player, a fantastic dancer, and a gourmet cook.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Irving; three daughters, Rochelle (Charles) Nathanson of Cherry Hill; Marcie (Jay) Wolinsky of Hackettstown; and Barbara (Michael) Brien of North Caldwell; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held Feb. 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
