Shirley Hoff
Shirley Sheinman Buckalter Hoff, 91, of Monroe Township died July 28, 2015. Born in the Bronx, she resided in Somerset for 16 years before moving to Monroe 22 years ago.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Hoff was an accountant at Barney Cohn, New Brunswick, where she worked for many years. Prior to that, she worked for New York Bakery, New Brunswick, for 27 years, and also at Hamilton Lanes in Somerset for several years.
She was a member of Congregation Beit Shalom, Monroe Township. She was a member of National Council of Jewish Women’s Brandeis chapter and B’nai B’rith of Concordia in Monroe. She was also a former member of Congregation Poile Zedek and its sisterhood in New Brunswick.
Predeceased by her first husband, Carl Buckalter, in 1972; her second husband, George Hoff, in 2010; a stepdaughter, Marcel Bauries, in 1991; and two step-grandchildren, Damian Bauries and Christopher Robert Hoff, she is survived by her son, Stuart (Nancy) Buckalter of Manalapan; her daughter, Carol (Carl) Cabourg of North Brunswick; two stepsons, Robert (Sandra) Hoff of Sayreville and Scott (Barbara) Hoff of Ledgewood; two brothers, Irwin and Seymour Sheinman, both of Somerset; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held July 31 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beit Shalom or American Cancer Society.
