Shirley Harmon (Rosh), 88, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Feb. 7, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Queens and, since 1961, in Springfield before moving to Delray Beach two years ago.
Mrs. Harmon was a teacher in the New York City Public Schools. She then became a special education teacher for Essex County Education Commission before retiring.
She earned a B.A. in education from Hunter College.
She was a member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield, Hadassah, and Brandeis University Women.
Predeceased by her husband, Martin, she is survived by her son, Myles (Janet Epstein) of Burke, Va.; her daughter, Debra Harmon (Michael) Distler of Needham, Mass.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley and Barton Weisman Delray Community Center, 7091 West Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33446.
