Seymour Wane

Seymour L. Wane, 91, of West Orange died Oct. 21, 2015.

Mr. Wane became vice president of finance at Louis Marx Toy Co., which emerged from World War II as the largest manufacturer of toys and operated three large manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania. He piloted the company’s production move to Asia. In the later part of the 1960s, Louis Marx consummated a sale of the company’s U.S., Hong Kong, and Mexican enterprises to Quaker Oats Company. He continued his career as vice president of Brae Capital Corp., the financial vehicle of Louis Marx, Jr.

He graduated from New York University. 

He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II and rose to the rank of lieutenant, serving aboard a destroyer escort in the Pacific campaign.

He was president of the Millburn-Short Hills Scholastic Boosters, which raised funds for college scholarship awards to qualifying Millburn High School seniors.

Predeceased by his wife, Cynthia, and a daughter, Amy, he is survived by three children, Lauren Hochman, Jonathan Lowenberg, and Heather Feldman; a brother, Leonard; and five grandchildren. 

Services were held Oct. 25 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
