Seymour Uranowitz

Seymour William Uranowitz, 66, of St. Louis Park, Minn., died Dec. 20, 2017. He was born in Newark and raised in West Orange. 

Mr. Uranowitz was the director of talent development at UnitedHealth Group in Twin Cities, Minn., at the time of his death. Previously, he was a senior consultant for Personnel Decisions International and Control Data Corporation. He also was an instructor at the University of Minnesota, where he earned his Ph.D. (ABD) in social psychology, and Purdue University, where he served as an assistant professor and focused on the areas of social psychology, personality psychology, research methods, and statistical methods. 

He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in psychology from University of California, Berkeley, where he also was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. 

He is survived by his companion of 40 years, Janice Bobrowske of St. Louis Park; a brother, Kenneth Uranowitz of West Orange; a sister, Vivien Silber of Pleasanton, Calif.; and several nieces and
nephews. 

Arrangements were handled by Washburn-McReavy Edina Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Humane Society, Golden Valley, Minn.
