Seymour Frieland
Seymour (“Sy”) Harold Frieland, 92, of Maplewood, formerly of Westfield, died July 4, 2014. He was born in Newark and lived in New Jersey for his entire life.
Mr. Frieland was an independent insurance agent specializing in life and group health insurance, and was most recently affiliated with Brown & Brown Metro in Florham Park.
He was a graduate of Weequahic High School, Newark, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Helene Edson Reiter Frieland; his children, Glenn and Lyn Reiter, Lauren and Richard Brody, Donald and Kim Reiter, Neil and Lauren Reiter, Jan and David Ball, and Richard Frieland; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held July 8 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Emanu-El, Westfield.
