Seymour Berkowitz, 88, of Tamarac, Fla., died Oct. 23, 2013. Born and raised in the Bronx, he raised his family in Queens before moving to Florida in 1990.
Mr. Berkowitz operated several businesses in Queens and eventually owned and operated his own taxi until his retirement.
He was a combat Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Midge; his son, Glen (Leisa) of Springfield; his daughter, Debbie (Marty) Arbus of Wayside; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 27 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
