It is a pleasure to thank Johanna Ginsberg for her article “JFS is new volunteer hub for Union County” (July 9).

Having just celebrated the one-year anniversary of the RSVP Center of Essex and Hudson Counties, I wanted to welcome our new RSVP partner agency in Union County based at the JFS of Central NJ.

As federally funded Senior Corps programs, RSVP Centers strive to engage members of the community who are 55+ in giving back to the community in meaningful ways. The RSVP Center of Essex and Hudson Counties, sponsored by Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, focuses on opportunities that include community gardening, helping victims of domestic violence, addressing food insecurity, friendly visiting with isolated seniors, and working with children. Interested community members who are 55+ are encouraged to contact their local RSVP Center to learn about opportunities in their area.

Individuals 55+ seeking the perfect volunteer opportunity in Essex or Hudson Counties are encouraged to contact Stephanie Grove, program director for the RSVP Center of Essex and Hudson Counties at 973-637-1766 or sgrove@jfsmetrowest.org. With 64 agencies in our partner network within Essex and Hudson counties, we are sure to have a fit for you!
