Selma Schwartz

Selma (Silverman) Schwartz, 93, of East Brunswick died Jan. 16, 2018. Born and raised in the Bronx, she lived in Edison for 47 years before moving to East Brunswick. 

Mrs. Schwartz had been a secretary for Forbes Magazine in New York City. She was a school librarian at James Monroe Elementary School, Edison. 

She graduated from Morris High School. 

She was an artist who enjoyed oil painting. 

A Girl Scout troop leader at James Monroe Elementary School, she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels at Jewish Family and Vocational Service and was a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex. 

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Murray, she is survived by two daughters, Paula (Jerry) Feld of East Brunswick and Robin (Eric) Menaker of Marlboro; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. 

Services were held Jan. 18 with arrangements by Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Edison.
