School choice
With so many crises facing our country, both domestically and internationally, this is the time to restore our nation back to its founding principles as expressed in the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness…”
We have about 18 months to elect a president and vice-president, along with 469 members of Congress — 435 to the House and 34 to the Senate — who stand 100 percent for these principles. The perfect benchmark is their position on universal school choice, which would empower parents to send their children to the school of their choice.
“No” is the wrong answer! Government control of education is the source of most, if not all, the troubles we face. Education is the nursery of all society. Not unlike the Communist experiment with top-down control of enterprise, which proved to be a disaster, our top-down system of education is destroying the very fabric of our society — the American family!
Liberty and justice will surely bring boundless blessings for generations to come.
The Declaration also gives us the key: “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”
