Sarah Berg-Schlesinger
Sarah Berg-Schlesinger, 84, of Boca Raton, Fla., died Sept. 12, 2010. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Carteret and Woodbridge before moving to Boca Raton six years ago.
Mrs. Berg-Schlesinger was the founder of Schlesinger Associates Global Marketing Research Company, where she served as a chairperson for the past 45 years.
She was on the board of directors of the New York chapter of the Marketing Research Organization, and was named “Business Woman of the Year” in Middlesex County.
She was a former member of Congregation Adath Israel and Congregation Neve Shalom. She was a sisterhood president and very active in the United Jewish Appeal.
She is survived by two sons, Howard Schlesinger of Livingston and Steve Schlesinger of Summit; two daughters, Jude Shaw of Wayne and Debby Hellman of Los Angeles; two sisters, Betty Saltiel of New Brunswick and Lillian Richman of Somerset; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 14 at Congregation Beth Hatikvah, Summit, with arrangements by Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
