Sara Miller
Sara G. Miller (Gecht), 96, of South Orange died June 24, 2015. Born in Russia, she lived in Newark and Maplewood and then in Millburn for over 30 years before moving to South Orange 10 years ago.
Mrs. Miller was a Hebrew school teacher at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield, Temple Israel in South Orange, and Temple Israel in Elizabeth for 32 years before retiring in 1994.
She graduated from Hebrew Union College.
She was a member of the L’Chaim Group of Oheb Shalom Congregation of South Orange, Hadassah, Charity Council of Springfield, the F.F.C. Club of Newark, and the sisterhoods of Temple Emanu-El of Westfield and Congregation Beth El of South Orange.
She was a member of Temple B’nai Abraham of Livingston for over 46 years. She was honored by Temple Emanu-El for 18 years of service and the Jewish Education Association of MetroWest for 32 years of service.
Predeceased by her husband, Seymour, she is survived by her daughter, Fern Menzildjian of Sausalito, Calif., and a sister, Minette Strauding of Livingston.
Services were held June 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
