Sanford Wolfe

Sanford Wolfe, 90, of Chatham Township died June 12, 2016. Born in Newark, he lived in Union and then Livingston before moving to Chatham in 1991.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Wolfe was a certified public accountant for the Department of Defense and the EPA, New York City, for over 30 years. He later worked as an independent consultant.

A graduate of Weequahic High School and Upsala College, he played basketball for both schools.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed aboard the USS New Bedford.

He is survived his wife of nearly 58 years, Hanna “Honey” (Fleischman); two sons, Barry (Margie) and Jeffrey; his daughter, Lisa; and six grandchildren.

Services were held June 14 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
