Sanford Meskin
Sanford Alan Meskin, 81, of Parkland, Fla., died Sept. 8, 2013. He was born and raised in Newark and resided in both Hillside and Springfield with his family before retiring to Florida in 1994.
Mr. Meskin was a partner in the law firm of Goldhor, Meskin and Ziegler in Hillside.
He graduated from Weequahic High School, Newark, and the University of Alabama. He attended Seton Hall University School of Law and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1960.
He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War while being stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged after his term of service.
He served in numerous leadership and participatory positions in both the townships of Hillside and Springfield as well as with other non-municipal organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Muriel (Goldwater); three sons, Michael G., Marc C., and Robert L.; his daughter, Leslie A. Meskin (Bass); and seven grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 11 with arrangements by Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486-3395.
