Sandra Diane “Sandee” Kahn, 75, of Rockaway died March 24, 2018. She was born and raised in Queens.
Mrs. Kahn graduated from Hunter College with a degree in psychology. She was a teacher in New York City and later worked for 27 years as a sixth-grade teacher and reading specialist at the Academy Street Elementary School in Dover.
In retirement, she traveled, played oboe in community musical groups, was a member of book clubs, and played competitive bridge.
Predeceased by a grandson, Jacob, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stanley; her sons, Lawrence (Kristin) and Daniel (Emily); and five grandchildren, all of Mountain Lakes; and her unofficially adopted son, Scott (Lisa) Schneier of Boonton.
Services were held March 26 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. A scholarship fund is being established in her memory at Academy Street School; memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
