Samuel Taus

Samuel Taus, 89, of Lakewood died Aug. 12, 2014. He was born in the Bronx and lived in Long Beach, NY, before settling down and raising his family in Queens. He moved to New Jersey in 2005, living in the Covered Bridge section of Manalapan before moving to Covington Village in Lakewood.

Mr. Taus had a long career as a Certified Master Watch Maker, and continued it as a hobby for the rest of his life. 

He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II who served as a flight radio operator in the China, Burma, and India theaters. 

He remained an active member of the Jewish War Veterans, most recently in Covered Bridge, Post 536.

Predeceased by his wife of nearly 55 years, Dorothy, in 2007, he is survived by two daughters, Cindy Taus of Lakewood and Tina (Marc) Weissman of Jackson; and two grandsons. 

Services were held Aug. 14 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean.
