Samuel Karasic

Samuel Karasic, 86, of Shrewsbury died Oct. 26, 2011. He was born in Asbury Park and lived in Tinton Falls for 30 years.

Mr. Karasic was a businessman with interests in Carnival Bar Ice Cream, Carnival Vending Inc., and Banner Financial Services, all of Eatontown.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving as an aviation radioman gunner in the Navy.

He attended Ursinus College, Pennsylvania, and graduated from New York University with a degree in accounting.

Predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Frances, in January 2011, he is survived by three sons, Raymond of Wilmington, Del., Brian of Ocean Township, and Barry of Woodbine; his daughter, Laurie of Colts Neck; two brothers, H. Lawrence of Ocean and Jerome of Denver; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 27 with arrangements by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions may be made to Chabad of the Shore, Long Branch.
