Samuel Golub

Samuel Golub, 87, of Morris Plains died April 22, 2018. Born in Jersey City, he lived in North Arlington before moving to Morris County 55 years ago, living in Mt. Olive, Flanders, Long Valley, and Netcong. 

After retiring as the owner of a retail fabric business, Mr. Golub taught in the Morris County School system as a substitute. 

A graduate of Rutgers and Penn State universities, he held degrees in geology, history, and government.

He was the founding member of Temple Hatikvah in Flanders and a member of its men’s club as well as a member of the Morris County chapter of Toastmasters. 

A former congressional candidate in 1972 for the 7th Congressional District, he ran on “The Honest Alternative” platform. 

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Joseph) Ahlzadeh of Atlanta; his son, Seth of Freehold; two sisters, Frances Reiser and Rose Sanders; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. 

Services were held April 26 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Hatikvah of Flanders.Estelle Feder

Estelle Feder, 87, of Lakewood died April 9, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, she also had resided in Manalapan.

Mrs. Feder is survived by her husband, Albert; her son, Neal (Holly) of East Windsor; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 11 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth Chaim, Princeton Junction.
