SAMET-BUCHWALD

Lara M. Samet, daughter of Jeanne and Joseph Samet of Upper Montclair, was married March 1, 2014, to New York State Assemblyman David Evan Buchwald, son of the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald and Don Buchwald of White Plains, NY.

Rabbi Alan Silverstein performed the ceremony at the Tarrytown House Estate, New York.

Mrs. Buchwald graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and received her law degree cum laude from New York University School of Law. She is a litigation associate at the New York law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.

Mr. Buchwald graduated from Yale University with a degree in physics and received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School and his master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. A first term member of the New York State Assembly, he represents nine towns in Westchester County; he previously served as a councilman in the City of White Plains. He is an attorney and, prior to his election to the state assembly, worked as a tax associate at the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
